AEGIS Consultants provides security consulting
services to individuals, businesses, investigation,
law enforcement and security firms. These services
are designed to answer a client's questions, to
detail and create deployable plans, to review and
audit existing practices, and to suggest alternatives
to an existing security framework.

Risk management is activity directed towards the
assessing, evaluating, managing (to an acceptable
level) and measuring of risks. In some cases the
acceptable risk may be near zero. Risks can come
from client activity, associates, accidents, natural
causes, human error, and intentional acts.

The AEGIS Consultants risk analysis is a
procedure for estimating the risk to assets (and the
implications of their loss) due to manifested
threats. The procedure first determines an asset's
level of vulnerability by identifying and evaluating
the effectiveness of in-place security measures
(also called countermeasures).  A security risk
analysis defines the current environment and
makes recommended corrective actions if the
residual risk is considered to be unacceptable.
Risk analysis is a vital part of any ongoing security
and risk management program. The risk analysis
process should be conducted with sufficient
regularity to ensure that each property's approach
to security risk management is a realistic response
to the current risks associated with its assets.
Management must then decide on whether to
retain the residual risk (i.e. Maintain the status
quo), or to implement the recommended actions in
order to reduce the risk.
